These photographs were taken during three visits to the island of Sri Lanka between 2002 and 2011. The locations included Ranweli on the west coast, the Kitulgala forest, Kandalama in the centre of Sri Lanka, and the Hanthana Hills above Kandy. The island is a good place for a family holiday coupled with great wildlife watching. The birdlife is impressive and you don’t need go to great efforts to see a whole range of exotic species, butterflies are everywhere in the right season, mammals – including wild Elephant – are common and you would be unlucky not see a variety of reptile species.
