Spain – Aragon

In early May 2012, I had a two week holiday based in the Aragon region of northern Spain, just south of the western Pyrenees. For most of the time I was based in the village of Bierge in the foothills of the Sierra de Guara. This is a place of almond groves, flowering meadows, ancient villages and dramatic gorges. Being mainly off the tourist trail it is an area of abundant wildlife, especially vultures. There are a number of feeding stations and I watched Lammergeier on several occasions.
